HJETAA Japanese Garden Tour & Returnees Lunch

  • Kay McFarland Japanese Garden and Venue (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Join Heartland JETAA for a very special afternoon exploring the Kay McFarland Japanese Garden at the Topeka Zoo! We will be guided by the garden's own master designer, Koji Morimoto, who has over 20 years of experience designing Japanese gardens.

After the tour, we’ll head to Mizu Sushi in Topeka for lunch, where we’ll have the chance to catch up with fellow alumni and meet some of the JET Returnees who recently returned to the Kansas City area this summer.

Schedule
12:00–1:30 PM: Kay McFarland Japanese Garden Tour
After the tour: Lunch at Mizu Sushi

Please note:
- We will meet outside the Kay McFarland Japanese Garden inside the Topeka Zoo at 12:00 PM.
- The garden tour itself is free, but because the garden is located inside the Topeka Zoo, you will need to purchase admission. Tickets can be purchased in advance through the zoo’s website or in person when you arrive.
- We’d love for everyone to join us for both the garden tour and lunch, but if you’re only able to attend one portion, please comment below and let us know which one!

See you there!!
